What are youth guides?

Youth guides are teenagers and young adults who accompany groups to memorial sites or establish individual aspects of National Socialism, especially connections to Nazi crimes, on site during city walks. In doing so, they not only impart knowledge. They also explain what motivates them personally to deal with Nazi crimes on site. In this way, they offer groups of young visitors in particular the opportunity to discuss the relevance of National Socialist crimes for today. Since 2012, the district of Tübingen and its partners have been qualifying 20 to 30 young people each year as youth guides in seminars and workshops lasting a total of about 40 hours.
